The Triamcinolone Solution

My twice-a-day-for-four-weeks Fluorouracil treatment is over. I saw my dermie today and she told me how proud she was of me for doing it.

Here’s a week-by-week photo essay of my trip:

No, it wasn’t a lot of fun. Yes, I did avoid people.

Now for the calming. I have to apply Triamcinolone Acetonide ointment twice a day until I get back to whatever “normal” is for me. Triamcinolone is a corticosteroid used to reduce swelling (check), redness (check) and itching (BIG CHECK).

And yes, there are possible side effects. Including unusual/extreme tiredness, weight loss, headache, swelling ankles/feet, increased thirst/urination, vision problems, severe dizziness, and trouble breathing.

I know I had to do it and I’m glad I did it. My only regret is that I didn’t do it over Halloween.
